Human Resources Assistant

Jessica began her professional career in federal service at the age of 18 with the Department of Defense before transitioning to the Department of Justice. During her six years with the Bureau of Prisons, she built her career by advancing from a Corrections Officer in New Jersey to Captain’s Secretary, and ultimately to a Human Resources Specialist—a path she never imagined for herself, but one she has grown to genuinely enjoy and feel passionate about, especially in helping reshape the perception of HR.

In 2025, Jessica made the transition from federal service to the private sector, joining Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery – Inova Partners, LLC. In her role, she supports onboarding, recruiting, interviews, benefits, payroll, and a variety of HR functions. She brings a unique perspective shaped by her federal experience, allowing her to approach challenges with adaptability, strong communication, and a people-first mindset. She is passionate about creating a positive employee experience through honest, transparent communication and ensuring team members feel supported from day one.

Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Law and Society with a minor in Psychology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She also pursued graduate studies in Homeland Security with a focus on Counterterrorism at Penn State before ultimately shifting her career path to Human Resources.

Based in Azle, Texas, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dogs—whether at the lake, attending live music events, riding side-by-sides, hunting, fishing, or cheering on Michigan football (Go Blue!). She has a love for sports of all kinds, whether playing, watching, or attending live events. A proud dog mom to Wesson Bearett, Noveske Rae, and Geissele James, Jessica values being part of a team that supports those who care for animals every day.
